Iván Arango de Montis is a Psychiatrist, Sexual Therapist, Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, and a Professor of Medical Sciences with extensive clinical and research experience in the assessment and treatment of personality disorders. He founded and continues to coordinate the Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic at the National Institute of Psychiatry Ramón de la Fuente Muñiz, where he contributes to the training of psychiatric resident in the identification and treatment of these conditions and their frequent psychiatric comorbidity. He participated as a researcher and expert clinician in the development of field studies and clinical vignettes to assess the proposed changes to the diagnostic criteria of ICD-11 Compulsive Sexual Behaviour Disorder and Personality Disorders.
