José Luis Ayuso Mateos is Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health Services at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He is also Director of Psychiatric Services at the Hospital Universitario de la Princesa, and Assistant Director of the Centre for Biomedical Research in Mental Health Network. He is an internationally recognized expert in the areas of nosology, epidemiology, and management and prevention of mental disorders and suicidal behavior. He was a member of the International Advisory Group and Field Studies Coordinating Group for the development of the ICD-11 Mental, Behavioural and Neurodevelopmental Disorders.
