Mario Maj is Professor of Psychiatry and Chairman at the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Campania “L. Vanvitelli”, Naples, Italy, where he is Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research and Training in Mental Health. He has been President of the Italian Psychiatric Association (2000-2002), of the European Psychiatric Association (2003-2004) and of the World Psychiatric Association (2008-2011). He is the Founder and the Editor of World Psychiatry, the psychiatric journal with the highest impact factor (73.3). He was a member of the WHO International Advisory Group for the ICD-11 Chapter on Mental, Behavioural and Neurodevelopmental Disorders, and Chair of the ICD-11 Working Group on Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
